Margaret Cox Herrick correspondence and ephemera, 1854-1954.

Correspondence and ephemera of Herrick and her sister, Florence H. Requa. Most of the letters to Herrick express appreciation for her donations of paintings and other goods to religious and war-time organizations during the 1940s. Letters to Requa concern the acquisition in 1954 of Herrick's oil painting of the signing of the United Nations Charter, by the Haines Memorial Library at the University of California. Includes two handwritten letters, dated 1854, from Jonas Paxton to Joseph Kendall and Lucy (Kendall?), with related typewritten letters dated 1934-1935, written from a relative named Chris Miller to Lucy A. Herrick, discussing family lore. Ephemera includes photocopies of newspaper clippings which were sent to Margaret Herrick, church ephemera, a price list of articles at Herrick's studio, a photocopy of her obituary notice, and a certificate of appreciation for Herrick from Boys Town, Nebraska.
